In the afternoon take a tour of the capital and visit some of its historic sites. We will pick you up from your hotel and show you the metropolitan city of Santiago. In this tour visit Santiago's most important historical sites, including the downtown area surrounding the Plaza de Armas and the La Moneda Presidential Palace. We will also pass by the Mercado Central, one of Chiles largest fresh seafood markets, and stroll by the many bustling stalls to see the tremendous variety available from Chiles bountiful sea. We will visit some of the citys lesser known barrios including República and Concha y Toro. Initially constituting the outskirts of the city, the capital's constant growth transformed the area into a privileged neighborhood and home to Santiago's high society. There will be time to walk around and take photos of the varied styles of architecture dating back to the 19th and early 20th century. Continuing through the cobblestoned Lastarria neighborhood, we will walk through the Parque Forestal and pass by the Bellas Artes Museum. For a panoramic vista of the city, we will visit the top of Cerro San Cristobal, 600 feet above the city.
During the tour, you will have the option to visit one of Santiagos most famous museums, La Chascona, the former home of Chiles beloved poet, Nobel Laureate Pablo Neruda.
You can end the tour at the picturesque Los Dominicos Craft Market where over 150 Chilean artists handicrafts are displayed; stroll through the artisan village and enjoy an empanada at one of the outdoor cafés or we can drop you off at your hotel.

Today discover the path of the mysterious Moais. The expedition begins early in the morning with a visit to one of the least explored places in the island - Vinapu, with its Ahu Tahira whose perfection reminds us of the walls of Machu Picchu. After that, head to the east cost of the island and walk the “Moais path”. Admire the process of construction and transportation of these colossal sculptures and see the largest Moai in the island installed on the Ahu of Tongariki, the most striking Ahu of the island. From there we head to Rano Raraku volcano where you will see half buried Moais on the sides of the volcanic cone of Rano Raraku. See pieces that were never finished. Note: the Moai that you see sticking up out of the ground have bodies that extend down underground 20 - 40 feet, all the way to the waist!
Our final destination is the Anakena beach, an archeological site with petro glyphs, Moais, caves, different types of platforms, and the immensity of the Pacific Ocean as a backstage. If the weather allows, take a bath in the quiet turquoise water of Anakena Beach, a place where the true spirit of the island lives. Overnight at a hotel.
