Day 1. Caracas

Meet your travel assistant at the Maiquetía airport in Caracas and he/she will welcome you to Venezuela, answer all your questions, and transfer you to your Hotel where you will rest and eat up after a long travel. Overnight at Overnight at the JW Marriott Hotel Caracas. ( - / - / - )

Day 2. Caracas

Caracas Day tour with lunch included. Overnight at the JW Marriott Hotel Caracas ( - / L / - )

In this tour they will visit places such as:
  • Catedral Metropolitana de Caracas: Over 300 pounds of gold leaf were used to gild the main altar at this late 17th-century cathedral, which also houses the private Bolivar family chapel.
  • Simon Bolivarʼs Birthplace
  • Panteon Nacional: The remains of celebrated Venezuelans, including Simon Bolivar, are housed inside this building, whose walls and ceilings display the most famous Venezuelan independence battle scenes.
  • Plaza Bolivar: Four statues of women, one at each corner of this plaza named for Simon Bolivar, represent the four original republics of Gran Colombia: Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
  • El Capitolio Nacional: Two neoclassical style buildings, the Legislative Palace and the Federal Palace, house Venezuela's National Congress, now called the National Assembly.
  • Plaza de Altamira: Impressive fountains grace the entrance to the Altamira subway station, which is located in this popular square of Caracas.
  • Paseo de Los Proceres: Popular with roller bladers, bikers, joggers and people watchers, this complex of monuments to Venezuelaʼs national heroes includes a lengthy avenue lined with lush trees, gardens and artwork integrated into the landscape.
Day 3. Caracas – Canaima National Park

Fly to Canaima National Park in a private Charter (8:00 a.m.). Upon arrival you will be transferred to our main camp where you will be able to enjoy the view of the Canaima Lagoon and its majestic falls - the Wadaima, Golondrina and Hacha waterfalls. Leaving at 2:00 p.m. from “WAKÜ LODGE” in a rustic vehicle to “Ucaima” Port, situated above the “Canaima Lagoon Falls (a distance of 10 minutes approximately); you will board a Curiara (a long log canoe) to go by boat on the “Carrao” river. During the voyage, you will observe the lush tropical vegetation, Sabanas, Palmas de Moriche, and the Tepuyes. After a voyage of 20 minutes, you will arrive at the “Sapo Fall” - a majestic water fall of approximately 45 meters of high and 100 meters of wide that you will cross on foot. At the end of this adventure you will continue to the “Mayupa Sabana” (a 30 minutes ride in Jeep), where you will be able to observe the “Mayupa” rapids and part of the majestic “Auyan Tepuy”. Once you cross the Sabana, you will embark again and continue until we arrive at the “Happiness Well” where will take a fresh bath. After this, you will continue the trip until to arrive at “Ahonda Camp” in front of the “Orchid Island” (Isla de la Orquídea), a shelter of red stones, where we will have dinner with a view of the “Auyan Tepuy” in front, and pass the night sleeping in hammocks with mosquito nettings and blankets. Day 4. Angel Falls

After breakfast, continue your adventure by taking a boat on the “Carrao” river, and after on the “Churun” river, arriving after one hour approximately to “Little Mouse Island- Isla Raton”, and from there we will see the magnificent “Angel Fall” (Salto Angel). To get to the foot of it need a one hour long walk/trek. You will we stay there for about one or two hours (and if the weather allow, we might take a swim in the “Angel Fall” lagoon). You will return to the “Little Mouse Island” (Isla del Ratoncito) for lunch and later the descend again to the “Ahonda Camp”, for dinner and a good night rest. ( B / L / D )

Day 5. Canaima National Park

After breakfast, retune to Canaima – Waku Lodge – at around 10:00 a.m. After lunch (departure 3:00 p.m.), take and expedition to Yuri and Yuri Lu Falls. Take a 20 minutes ride - in rustic vehicles - to “Puerto Verde" (Green Port) where you will board a curiara. A 20 minutes trip in the curiara will take you to “Puerto Yuri” (Yuri Port) where we begin a walk of 15 minutes to the Yuri falls and the beach. One the way back (only during the rainy season) we stop and visit the Yuri-Lu Fall. If the conditions of the river allows, you will navigate the Zamuro Stream and visit a native town. The excursion offers excellent opportunities to bath in rivers. At around 6:00 p.m. we return to our lodge for a great meal and good night sleep. Overnight at Waku Lodge. ( B / L / D )

Day 6. Canaima National Park – Orinoco Delta (Jungle)

Early in the morning (9:00 a.m.) we will fly from Canaima to Tucupita (Orinoco Delta Region) in a private Charter. From there, you will be transferred to the Orinoco Delta Lodge. Arrive at the Orinoco Delta Lodge, check into your cabin where you can rest a little. The Lodge is an attractive complex of 37 individual comfortable cabins with a huge dinning and bar area overlooking the river. The rooms are 'open', the windows covered by a mesh to keep the mosquitos out and a palm covered roof. At night you lay on the bed with the sounds of the jungle outside and the twinkling lights of the fireflies in the trees. Electricity goes off around 11 p.m. but you are given candles, you should also take a torch just in case. The paths to the main area are lit with flamed torches at night time. During the day you can spot all sorts of wildlife around the camp. Lunch will be served at 1:00 p.m. After lunch, you will take a boat ride through small rivers to observe the flora and fauna, the fresh water dolphins and a spectacular Orinoco Delta sunset. Back to the main camp at 6:30 pm where dinner will be served at 8:00 p.m. Overnight at Orinoco Delta Lodge. ( B / L / D )

Day 7. Orinoco Delta

Wake up to the jungle sounds and eat breakfast at 8:00 AM. After breakfast take a remote area of the Delta (Guinamorena), heading to Jakara Camp (rustic but comfortable our latest addition). Lunch will be served at the camp in the Jungle. In the afternoon we take a canoe ride to visit the Warao Indians and learn a few interesting facts about their life style and survival techniques. In the evening we take a night trip to search for alligators before or after dinner depending on the river conditions. Sleeping in Hammocks, shared bathroom. ( B / L / D )

Day 8. Orinoco Delta

After breakfast we board the canoes again and venture deep in the jungle through a very small river. Your Indian guide will locate an excellent spot for a perfect jungle trek. For those of you who have never been in the jungle before (most guests), the experience is unforgettable. With the silence of the jungle occasionally interrupted by freaky bird’s screams and the pungent smells around you blending with a blanket of humidity. There are dense galleries of crawling plants and giant trees racing for rations of scarce sun light, a perfect none human system in an imperfect human world. Back to camp lunch served. After lunch a visit to Guenamorena Indian community, in the afternoon we return to the Orinoco Delta Lodge and to the comfort of your beds and private bathrooms. Dinner served. Overnight at Orinoco Delta Lodge. ( B / L / D )

Day 9. Orinoco Delta – Margarita Island

After breakfast take a boat trip to fish the fierce infamous piranhas. If you catch any we can fry them for a snack. After lunch, you will be transferred to Tucupita airport to take a in a private Charter to Margarita Island where you can gulf, take a jeef safari to the Macanao Peninsula and Copey national park or an full day excursion to Coche and Yemaya Island. Overnight at the Hilton Margarita Hotel. ( B / L / - )

Days 10 -12. Margarita Island

For the following days, you will take some time to relax, enjoy and explore the island. Overnight at the Hilton Margarita Hotel. ( B / - / - )

Day 13. Margarita Island – Caracas

In the morning, fly from Margarita Island to Caracas to catch your international flight back home. ( B / - / - )

I.             I. BOOK ONLINE: Start by filling out YOUR TRIP COST section. Each itinerary has a trip price range. This section will allow you to quote an exact price by filling out Questions 1-4. The price will be determined by: the dates you choose to travel, the number of people traveling with you, and the type of service you require throughout your trip. After filling out Questions 1-4, you will choose between two options:

Option A - Book Now: If you agree with the price and you DO NOT need to make any changes to the itinerary and/or the departure dates, you will press the BOOK NOW button which will take you through a series of steps:

* Step 1: Enter your Details & Flight Information – Here you will have to fill out the passenger details, contact information and international flight information. If you still haven’t booked your international flight, no worries, the system will allow you to request a quote through us. 

* Step 2: Pre/Post Hotels & Transfers in Caracas - Need extra nights in Caracas before or after your trip? If you do, you will need to fill out this section. If you don’t you will skip this section and proceed to Step 3. 

* Step 3: Make a donation? – Turpial Travel is a member of several organizations that protect the environment, study endangered species and promote sustainable tourism. We work in partnership with Fundación AndígenA to forge a direct link between the economic benefits from tourism and the biodiversity protection. When filling out sections 1-5 you will received two emails from us. The first email will let you know that a personal account has been created for you. The email will also tell you the name of the Travel Assistant that has been assigned to you. The second email will confirm your payment once it has been processed.
