Diving in Morrocoy Natipnal Park
Trip Highlights:
  • Experience beautiful, isolated tropical beaches, shallow coral reefs and mangrove swamps.
  • Morrocoy is an ideal hideaway for snorkelers and divers - which is not very explored by foreigners.
  • The mangroves are an important nesting ground for frigate birds, scarlet ibis, pink flamingoes, crested herons, cormorants and ducks.
  • The park has about 30 keys (e.g. Cayos Borracho, Pelón, Sombrero, Muerto, Sal, Playuela and Peraza), some of which are covered in palm trees and mangroves and others are desert islets of pure white sand.
  • In addition there is abundant coral and fish life thrive along the reefs and mangrove roots.


Day 1: Maiquetia Morrocoy National Park

Meet your guide at the airport and drive to Morrocoy National Park. We invite you to stay at Posada Morokkue while enjoying your stay at the Morrocoy National Park. The posada (guest house) offers different options for day tours and excursions, such as: Cuao Wildlife reserve, Chichiriviche, ecotourism day tours and full services with boat, snacks and cold drinks. Upon arrival, check in Posada Morokkue and enjoy of what is left of the day. Sleep in comfortable rooms, with mosquito nets and a private bathroom.

Day 2: Morrocoy National Park

After breakfast, take excursions to one of the keys and dive for example in cayo sur, medio or norte. If you feel like taking an open water, advance, stress and rescue and/or nitrox diving class that can also be arranged. ( B / L / D ).

Check out time from posada Morokkue is at midday. If you feel like waking up early to do something, visit the Cuao wildlife reserve - a perfect location for morning and afternoon wildlife viewing. At Morrocoy we can offer different posadas (guest houses/hotels) to stay at. 1. “BASIC/STANDARD POSADA”: Price range: $ Services: Bed services, rooms with private bathroom (NOTE: No hot watter) and fan service, meals. 2. “CONFORT POSADA” Price range: $$ Services: This Posada offers you national and international menus, bed services, rooms with private bathroom, air conditioner, meals. 3. “SUPERIOR POSADA” Price range: $$$ Services: Bed services, T.V, light and beach decoration, rooms with air conditioner, sea view, meals. NOTE: The posada you chose is what will dictate the price in this tour. The higher the $$$ the more you will pay

Important Information:
  • Participants should be qualified divers with a recognised professional body such as PADI, BSAC, NAUI. etc. A certificate or C-card will need to be presented to dive operators on location.
  • Any dive packages booked through Turpial Travel, including specific diving courses, cannot be changed upon arrival at your destination.
  • There is no refund for any unused dives.
  • Equipment included are the hire of tanks, air fills and weight belts unless otherwise stated. The hire of further dive equipment will be at an additional charge.
  • It is the individuals responsibility to be medical fit to scuba dive in the conditions presented.
  • We recommend that a refresher is taken in a pool if you have not been diving in the last 6 months. We reserve the right to charge for a refresher should there be uncertainty regarding your ability and its impact upon safety and the underwater environment.
  • All regulations stipulated by the recognised diving authority (e.g PADI, BSAC, etc) and as part of your insurance, must be strictly adhered to.
  • Turpial Travel dos not schedule dives for the day prior to destination departure.
  • Diving programmes are subject to constraints of weather and other conditions. Dive itineraries, particularly in relation to liveaboards need to be flexible to adapt to changes in diving sites or suspension of diving, for which no refund can be given.
NOTES:
  • Trips extensions can be arrange for any of our tours at an additional cost.
  • Allow for USD 20 per day for meals not included and/or additional personal expenses. 
How to Book?

I.             I. BOOK ONLINE: Start by filling out YOUR TRIP COST section. Each itinerary has a trip price range. This section will allow you to quote an exact price by filling out Questions 1-4. The price will be determined by: the dates you choose to travel, the number of people traveling with you, and the type of service you require throughout your trip. After filling out Questions 1-4, you will choose between two options:

Option A - Book Now: If you agree with the price and you DO NOT need to make any changes to the itinerary and/or the departure dates, you will press the BOOK NOW button which will take you through a series of steps:

* Step 1: Enter your Details & Flight Information – Here you will have to fill out the passenger details, contact information and international flight information. If you still haven’t booked your international flight, no worries, the system will allow you to request a quote through us. 

* Step 2: Pre/Post Hotels & Transfers in Caracas - Need extra nights in Caracas before or after your trip? If you do, you will need to fill out this section. If you don’t you will skip this section and proceed to Step 3. 

* Step 3: Make a donation? – Turpial Travel is a member of several organizations that protect the environment, study endangered species and promote sustainable tourism. We work in partnership with Fundación AndígenA to forge a direct link between the economic benefits from tourism and the biodiversity protection. This section will allow you to make a donation to this caused if interested. 

* Step 4: Is Everything Correct?  Review your Booking Information – This section will confirm key information needed to proceed with your booking.  

* Step 5: Payment Information – Last step! Here you proceed to pay and book your trip. Payment is processed through credit card only.

When filling out sections 1-5 you will received two emails from us. The first email will let you know that a personal account has been created for you. The account will allow you to interact with your assigned travel agent, update your profile, review trip details, and upload/download important pre-departure information. The email will also tell you the name of the Travel Assistant that has been assigned to you. The second email will confirm your payment once it has been processed.

We recommend using Option A since it was designed to save our clients time and money!

Option B - Personalize my Trip: If you need to adapt the itinerary to your specific needs (e.g. make changes to the itinerary and/or the pre-departure dates), you will fill out Questions 1-4 in “Your Trip Cost” section and press the PERSONALIZE MY TRIP button. Next, you will proceed to fill out some basic information needed to process your request. Once you submit this information, you will receive an email letting you know that your enquiry has been sent to the Department of Sales & Reservations and a Travel Assistant will contact you shortly.

Upon receipt of your booking form, we will proceed to call you and confirm your information. If all is correct, you can purchase the tour by credit card or bank transfer. In the pre-departure information you will receive all the details necessary for you to prepare for your holiday.
