There’s something magical about watching the animal kingdom’s winged species flit and fly across the landscape. With more than 33 percent of the planet’s bird species represented in the natural population, South America is one of the best places on earth to go birding. 44 percent of those birds are found in Venezuela, where an astonishing 1300 plus species have been recorded. At Turpial Travel, we offer five exciting bird watching South America excursions that include bird watching at all levels of intensity. We invite you to see both migratory and endemic species while simultaneously taking in the drama of the Venezuelan Mountains and enjoying the unique culture of the country’s people.

For beginners, the gentle difficulty level of our four day, three night Wildlife & Adventure in Venezuela Tour provides the perfect opportunity for bird watching South America. You’ll spend the trip enjoying a Los Llanos ranch full of diverse wildlife at your own pace. In addition to more than 250 species of birds, you’ll get the chance to observe more than 40 species of reptiles and almost 50 species of mammals.

At the easy difficulty level, we have two different trips that allow you to experience the excitement of bird watching. Our Western Venezuela adventure begins in Caracas and spans eight days and seven nights and several different locations. You’ll get the opportunity to see all types of wildlife in the area surrounding the laid-back town of Mérida before heading to a Los Llanos ranch where more than 250 species of birds can be observed. If you are serious about bird watching South America, the ten day, nine night Top Birding Sites in Venezuela tour will take you to all of the country’s best places for watching birds. Henry Pittier National Park includes a diverse range of environmental climates that are home to a large variety of different bird species. Once you have fully explored the park, the trip heads to the Barinas State to visit a ranch where hundreds of species of birds can be found.

The moderately difficult Biotour: Venezuela Wildlife Safari adventure lasts 15 days and 14 nights, taking you on an expedition to seek out the most famous animals in South America, including crocodiles and anacondas.

Bird watching South America is on the menu too, however, and one of the trip’s biggest highlights is a hike to see the beautiful Andean cock-of-the-rock. You’ll visit destinations all over Venezuela and explore the Amazon river.

Our most adventurous travelers can enjoy bird watching during the strenuous Torres del Paine Full Trekking circuit adventure, which lasts 11 days and 10 nights as you trek through the Chilean Patagonia region. The Patagonia region is one of the most beautiful places on earth, and you’ll get to know its landscapes, vegetation, and wildlife intimately as you hike, camp, and explore the stunning scenery.

At Turpial Travel, we focus on providing South American adventure tours that follow sustainable practices and use local guides to get an authentic perspective. If you are ready for the adventure of lifetime, contact us to book a bird watching South America trip today.
